In case of emergency!
In the final part of our Inflatable Safety blog series, it’s time to address the bit we hope you never need to know BUT it’s best to cover it anyway- so what happens in case of emergency?
We of course double, triple and quadruple check any potential hazards but if any of the following happens- this is how we would handle it to ensure you and your guests are completely safe at all times whilst enjoying the fun…
Power Failure:
In the event of a power failure which causes the inflatable’s blower to stop working:
- Our operator would blow the whistle and shout ‘Stand Still’
- Once everyone is still and listening, our operator would step onto the bouncy castle and quickly assist all participants to exit the inflatable safely whilst supporting the bouncy castle to prevent deflation.
- Once all users are evacuated and at a safe distance, we would then go and source the problem and hopefully rectify it to restore the fun part!
Stormy weather:
We can control most things except Mother Nature, however as previously mentioned, we keep a strict eye on the weather forecast before and during the event. If the unlikely event of a storm blows in or the wind picks up we stop the session immediately and assist all users in evacuating the inflatable. We would then deflate quickly and resume if/when the bad weather has passed on by!
Injuries:
If a user is unlucky enough to obtain a MINOR injury (our inflatables do tend to cause over enthusiastic bouncing), our operator will blow the whistle and call for all users to ‘Stop and Stand Still!’. We’ll then step onto the inflatable to assess the injury, we’ll then ensure the injured party is safely removed from the inflatable before allowing everyone to continue…
If a SERIOUS injury takes place, as before we blow the whistle to call for users attention and cooperation. We’ll stay with the injured party whilst the attendant removes all other users quickly and safely. We’ll contact the emergency services whilst finding the injured party’s friend or family member to alert them. Once the injured party has been removed and attended to, we shall fill in an accident form with all relevant details including what happened, number of users on the inflatable at the time and type of injury.
Ok, so that’s the serious bit covered- as you were…
