Inflatable Hire Safety Reminders for Spring

When spring is in the air, so are kids as they bounce up and down in inflatable bouncy castles. As fun as this activity is for kids of all ages, there are some important safety tips to keep in mind. As the end of the school year approaches, there are many more opportunities for school parties, spring fetes and outdoor birthday celebrations so there is also an increased risk for injury. Keeping these safety tips in mind will help kids enjoy bouncy castles, inflatable obstacle courses and garden games without incident or injury. Before you hire a bouncy castle, remember to let the professionals set it up for you.

Adult supervision is required at all times

A group of children all bouncing up and down in a bouncy castle sounds like fun, and of course it is. However, there is always the risk of injury in these types of situations. This is why adult supervision is essential. While play is certainly allowed and encouraged, rough play should not be. The risk of bumps and bruises will be greatly diminished by the control of responsible adults. Children should wait a bit after eating before playing in a bouncy castle. Kids of different ages, or more importantly of different sizes, should use the inflatable toy separately. The person who hires the inflatable needs to take on the responsibility of monitoring these things.

Keep hands and faces clean

Keeping hands and faces clean will help keep the inside of the bouncy castle clean as well. Once food or dirt has gotten into the inflatable it can cause unnecessary and unsafe slipping and sliding.

Monitor the weather situation

If there is even the slightest risk of rain or an electrical storm, everyone should be asked to leave the bouncy castle immediately. The power to the inflatable should be shut off. In the event of a general power failure, children should also be evacuated immediately. Inflatables need electricity to remain inflated. Without power they will lose air quickly. Blackpool Bounce will not set up an inflatable if there is the risk of bad weather nor will we charge for same day cancellations due to bad weather.
